Fingering ( interdigitation)
Most commonly the term is interdigitation Viscose (viscous fingering). also used as a translation: pitting Viscous Fingering Fingering and channel. terms used in miscible displacement processes, when a viscous fluid displaced by a less viscous, the advancing front leaves a time shift from uniform and the displacing fluid advances faster in some places than in other areas forming long, narrow finger-like. hence the name entered. interdigitation occurs in permeable sand or rock of uniform.
